🇬🇧Camp Dream. Speak. Live. at OntmoetingLokaal

This year, De Stotterpraktijk is once again organizing the annual stuttering camp Camp Dream. Speak. Live. in the Netherlands – and OntmoetingLokaal is proud to once again be the host location for this special event.

Since its first edition in 2021, the camp has grown into a place where children who stutter not only learn and grow, but most importantly, experience that stuttering is a part of who they are. It’s not something that needs to be fixed – it belongs, and it’s allowed to be there.

During the camp, which takes place from Tuesday, April 29 to Friday, May 2, 2025, participants work on their communication skills, such as body posture and eye contact. There’s space to practice speaking, to share knowledge about stuttering – even with strangers on the street – and to simply have fun.

A special feature this year is an art class led by a real art teacher, where creativity and expression take center stage. And all of this happens in the warm, safe environment of OntmoetingLokaal.

What makes this camp so valuable is that children not only develop themselves, but also get to just be kids – with their stuttering. As OntmoetingLokaal, we are incredibly happy with this collaboration. It’s beautiful to see how the children support one another, dare to be themselves, and find strength in something that is often seen as a vulnerability.
